Tree and Bushland Vegetation

I'm interested in:

1.  applying to prune or remove tree/s or vegetation in Sutherland Shire, or have an application decision reviewed.

The process for applying to prune or remove a tree located on private property within Sutherland Shire changed as at March 2008. Changes to council's local environmental plan and development control plan to reflect best practice in tree management now mean that application forms must now be completed.

Application forms are available from council's customer service centre, or a form can be downloaded:

More than one application may be lodged.

Upon completing the form it can be lodged with council in person, via mail, or by fax.

You can also apply to have the determination of an application reviewed:

Tree preservation has a greater priority as part of our response to climate change, and tree assessment is being given greater weight by the NSW Land and Environment Court. Changes to both the Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan and the Development Control Plan are the reason that application forms to prune or remove a tree are now required.  For more information, refer to:
